Let’s just say it – eating gluten-free can feel sad and less than, unless you are at one of the best gluten-free restaurants in Utah Valley! You don’t have to settle for just a limp lettuce-wrapped burger, there are some *amazing* gluten-free options in Utah Valley. Many of which have dairy-free options as well!
Whether you have celiac disease, a gluten sensitivity, or you’re feeding a kid who needs to eat safely, this list is a good place to start. Some of these are dedicated gluten-free restaurants. A couple are not, and I’ll note that clearly so you can make the right call for your family.
Here’s where we go when gluten-free actually needs to work.
Why You’ll Love This Guide
- Several dedicated, 100% gluten-free facilities on the list
- Options for every meal โ breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert
- Covers Provo, Orem, and surrounding Utah Valley areas

Dedicated Gluten-Free Spots in Utah Valley
These restaurants and bakeries are entirely gluten-free. Nothing with gluten comes into the building, which makes them the safest option for anyone with celiac disease.
Locals Brunch House โ Provo
I have never loved a brunch place as much as I LOVE Locals! Locals Brunch House is a dedicated gluten-free brunch spot in downtown Provo. Popular menu items include waffles, breakfast tacos, breakfast sandwiches, chicken and waffles, cinnamon rolls, and fresh bread and buns. This is literally where my sister and I go for our birthday meals!

The original owner, Jess Boyer, was diagnosed with celiac disease years ago and couldn’t find good options for eating out โ so she started developing recipes in her own kitchen and eventually opened Locals to share them with the community. That backstory shows in the food. This isn’t a restaurant that added a GF option as an afterthought. Note: Locals in April 2026 changed owners. I am not familiar with their backstory or what changes they will implement at the restaurant. So far so good, they just changed it to have dinner hours – yay!
Reviewers who don’t eat gluten-free regularly say they wouldn’t know the difference.

FAVORITE ITEMS:
- I adore the fried banana bread or pumpkin bread french toast. And I don’t even love french toast usually! But it’s crispy on the outside and SO good! (banana bread pictured above)
- I also almost always get the breakfast tacos as my savory item. That sauce is perfection and the flavors = so good! (pictured above)
- NOTE: As of when this post was written, all the main menu items can be made dairy-free as well!

Chicken Boy โ Provo
I first had Chicken Boy at the Gluten-free Expo and “Holy cow!” was my first reaction. SO crispy and flavorful! And their sauces are fantastic – I adore the ranch (which is not my normal, but theirs is incredible!), my kids love the BBQ and honey mustard.
Chicken Boy is a dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free restaurant known for their fried chicken tenders, nuggets, and fries โ and the owner spent years developing the recipe specifically for his family members with celiac disease. Every item on the menu is gluten-free and dairy-free. Almost everything is nut-free as well, with the exception of the tortillas which have almond flour.

Everything is fried in beef tallow, which many people appreciate if you’re also avoiding seed oils. The chicken tenders are the main draw โ they’re crispy, generously portioned, and come with house-made sauces. The honey mustard is the fan favorite by a wide margin.
Worth knowing: Chicken Boy started as a food truck and opened a physical location in August 2025. Hours can vary, so check their website before heading over.

Ambrosial Bakery โ Provo
I have been to a LOT of gluten-free bakeries, in cities across the nation. I look for one everytime I travel. And I don’t know that I’ve found a better gluten-free bakery than Ambrosial Bakery!
Ambrosial has been recognized as the top bakery, cookie, and cupcake shop in Utah County โ and they did it while being 100% gluten-free. The owner, Alisha, was diagnosed with a wheat allergy in high school and went on to earn a culinary degree before eventually opening the bakery to share her love of baking with others.
The menu rotates and includes staple items alongside new weekly offerings. They carry pastries, cookies, rolls, and savory baked goods, and they don’t allow any wheat or gluten in the building. Dairy-free options are available too and clearly marked.

FAVORITE ITEMS:
- The French Silk chocolate cookies are ridiculously good. They do have to be chilled, though. (pictured above)
- I also love the cherry hand pies – wonderful crust! (pictured above)
If you’re used to gluten-free baked goods that are dry or crumbly, this place will be a pleasant surprise. The cinnamon rolls and French silk cookies get mentioned in review after review.

Bismarck Doughnuts โ Orem
I have had *dozens* of gluten-free doughnuts. Many of them are…not great. But THESE. Literally the BEST gluten-free doughnut I have ever had! Made to order and always hot and fresh = insanely good.
Bismarck Doughnuts makes hand-crafted, 100% gluten-free doughnuts and beignets from scratch, made to order every day. Classic flavors like the Maple Bacon Ring sit alongside creative seasonal options.
What sets this place apart is that the doughnuts are yeasted, not cake-style โ which is genuinely rare in the gluten-free world. Reviewers consistently say these are the best gluten-free doughnuts they’ve ever had, and many drive significant distances specifically to get them.

Hours run Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday until 9 PM, and Sunday 9 AM to 3 PM. Popular flavors can sell out, so going earlier in the day is a good move.
FAVORITE ITEMS:
- The fritters are hands-down my favorite! The blueberry fritter is top tier and the apple fritter is a close second. Though if they have the seasonal peach fritters = RUN! (pictured below)
- The seasonal flavors – It’s dangerous, but brillant: they change specialty flavors every month! Be sure to keep an eye on their instagram for the flavors of the month.

Gluten-Friendly Restaurants in Utah Valley
These spots are not dedicated gluten-free facilities, but they have solid GF menus, staff who understand cross-contamination protocols, and a strong track record in the local gluten-free community. If you have celiac disease, always let them know when you order and ask about their current precautions.

Via 313 โ Orem and Lehi
OMG finally *amazing* gluten-free dairy-free pizza!!! Not the sad, “it will do” pizza crust you usually get with gluten-free pizza. If your family has been missing real pizza โ thick-crust, cheesy, satisfying pizza โ this is the place.
Via 313 serves Detroit-style deep dish pies with dedicated gluten-free crusts and dairy-free cheese available, and they were named the #1 Best Gluten-Free Pizzeria in the country by USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice in 2025. If you’ve eaten here, that probably doesn’t surprise you.
Every pizza on the menu can be made gluten-free, and they also offer gluten-free cheese bread. The crust is thick and airy โ not the dense or crumbly kind you might expect from a GF option. Pizzas come out marked with an allergy sticker, and staff are trained on cross-contamination protocols.
A note: Via 313 is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. GF dough is prepared separately and kept covered, and they use separate prep areas. Most reviewers with celiac disease report eating here without issue, but experiences can vary. Always mention your allergy when ordering.

Vessel Kitchen โ Orem and Multiple Utah Valley Locations
Vessel Kitchen was built around the idea of fine dining quality at fast-casual affordability โ and for gluten-free families, it’s one of the more practical everyday options in the valley.
The menu is built on clean, scratch-made ingredients with gluten-free, Whole30, keto, paleo, vegan, and vegetarian options clearly noted. Think globally inspired bowls, salads, proteins, and sides โ most of it naturally gluten-free. Items are well marked on the menu, and staff are generally knowledgeable and willing to take GF requests seriously.

One thing worth knowing before you order: the fryer is not dedicated gluten-free, so fried items aren’t safe for celiac even if they appear labeled GF on the menu. Stick to the bowls, proteins, and sides and you’ll have plenty of great options.
A note: Not a dedicated GF facility. Always mention your allergy when ordering, and skip the fried items if you’re highly sensitive.
FAVORITE: I like to build my own bowl with the shredded braised beef, sweet potato hash, and brussel sprouts (pictured above).

Aubergine Kitchen โ Multiple Utah Valley Locations
I could literally eat here every day. Such fresh, whole foods that taste amazing! The allergen info on everything is clearly marked, with lots of dairy-free options as well.
Aubergine Kitchen is a local Utah chain founded in 2014, with locations across Utah County, the Salt Lake Valley, and beyond. Their menu features whole-food ingredients from around the world, and menu items are clearly marked for gluten-free and vegan options.

The menu is built around no seed oils, no added sugar, and gluten-free and plant-based options. Think bowls, salads, wraps, smoothies, mac and cheese, and scratch-made soups โ most of it naturally gluten-free. The GF cheese bread is a consistent crowd favorite.
A note: Aubergine is not a dedicated GF facility, and community reviews are mixed. Many celiac diners eat here regularly without issues, while others have reported reactions. If you’re highly sensitive, communicate clearly when you order and ask staff to change gloves.
FAVORITE ITEMS:
- I love their bowls – so many veggies, protein, and flavor. My go-to is the Rio Bowl (pictured above).
- And we need to talk about the dairy-free milkshakes?! Holy cow! They are hard to find and these are no sugar added but actually taste good. My favorite is the Nocciola Vanilla Niceshake, which has the best flavor IMO.

Cubby’s โ Multiple Utah Valley Locations
Cubby’s is a Utah-based chain that takes gluten-free ordering seriously. Gluten-free menu items include fries, burgers, salads, and sandwiches, and most locations have a dedicated fryer for fries and GF buns available for any burger or sandwich. Staff are generally trained to ask whether a GF order is allergy-related, which is a reassuring sign.

The sweet potato fries and the mixed berry salad are two of the most-recommended GF options. For a quick, satisfying lunch that doesn’t feel like a compromise, this one works well for the whole family.
A note: Not a dedicated GF facility. Experiences can vary by location and how busy it is. Always mention celiac if that applies to you.
FAVORITE ITEMS:
- They have possibly THE BEST sweet potato fries! The crinkle shape and crispiness is perfection. But, MAKE SURE you get the maple dipping sauce. It’s extra, but oh my gosh good. I love it!
- My favorite entree is the steak salad, though the burger with a gluten-free bun is a solid option as well.

A Few More Worth Knowing
A few more spots that come up often in the local gluten-free community:
- Black Sheep Cafe (Provo) โ Southwestern-inspired menu with many GF options and a reputation for being knowledgeable about allergies
- Arempas (Orem) โ Venezuelan arepas made from masa, naturally gluten-free, and a good lunch or dinner option with kids
- Thai Time Provo โ Frequently mentioned in local GF roundups; Thai food tends to translate well, but always confirm sauces and marinades
