What Are Cheap Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Meals?
Cheap gluten-free dairy-free meals are simple, budget-friendly recipes made with affordable ingredients like chicken, potatoes, rice, and vegetables. Many meals can be made for under $2–$4 per serving by pairing protein with low-cost sides.
My family of 7 has lived on a budget our entire married life of 25 years. It’s how we operate. I have spreadsheets for my family budget, my business budget, and a giant one for this blog post that breaks down every single ingredient. I do the work, so you don’t have to!
Where do You Get The Numbers From?
👉👉IMPORTANT NOTE: All of these meals were priced out per ingredient based on the current prices of the most affordable items at my local Utah Walmart. The cost per item is based on how much is used, not the whole item, with the assumption that the rest will be used in another recipe.
That’s right – this isn’t AI-generated or guessed. I literally have a 1,200-line Excel spreadsheet that breaks down every single recipe to generate the costs I share. Facts matter, and I took extensive time to make sure these are honest and accurate.
I can’t tell you how much those items will cost in your area, or predict temporary price spikes (remember what happened to eggs in 2022?). But, this can still give you a ballpark and even a comparison between meals.
Also, of course, it’s better to use organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, all the things. No one debates that. And also, that’s a luxury not everyone can afford. This blog post uses the most affordable items to determine cost. Choose the best-quality items you can within your budget, and be proud that you are making homemade meals for your family. We don’t believe in food morality here.
