Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Trader Joe’s Finds — 2026 Update
The Gluten-free Dairy-free Trader Joe’s Finds list you need is here! Let’s be honest—finding gluten-free and dairy-free foods that taste good and don’t wreck your grocery budget can feel like a full-time job.
But Trader Joe’s? It’s one of my go-to spots for grabbing gluten-free + dairy-free, simple staples that make eating allergy-friendly so much easier (and tastier!).
I just refreshed this list for 2026 — added a few new gluten-free dairy-free finds (those mini beef tacos have saved dinner more than once when I’m out of town), and swapped out one staple Trader Joe’s recently discontinued.
Whether you’re doing a round of Whole30, sticking to Paleo options, or just trying to avoid gluten and dairy for your family’s health, this list is for you. I’ve rounded up our favorite budget-friendly Trader Joe’s finds that check all the boxes: minimal ingredients, full of flavor, and approved by my very honest kiddos.
From frozen lifesavers to easy snacks and sauces that make dinner a breeze, these products save me time, money, and stress. And no, you don’t need to spend 20 minutes in the aisle reading every label—I’ve done that part for you.
I’ve been navigating food sensitivities for years, and I get how overwhelming it can be. This guide is here to make your next Trader Joe’s trip easier, so you can shop with confidence and stock your kitchen with gluten-free dairy-free staples that are clean, delicious, and totally realistic for busy families.
Ready to fill your cart with Whole30 options, Paleo options, and feel-good food that won’t break the bank? Let’s dive in!
The Best Budget Deals on Staples
NOTE: ALL of these items are gluten-free (GF) and dairy-free (DF) and items that check those two boxes at least will indicate with “(GF, DF).” Items that are also Paleo or Whole30 will indicate that in parenthesis as well. Any that do NOT say “Paleo” or “Whole30” in the title are not compatible for those dietary needs. Please pay attention and use those accordingly.

Gluten-free Buns (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Let’s face it, most gluten-free buns are dry and a mouthful. These are the closest I have found to “normal”-tasting gluten-free buns AND they are the most affordable at $4.99 for 4 buns. We buy a bunch and throw them in the freezer for all the burger and sloppy joe nights to come.
Want your buns even less dry and more delicious? We saute our buns in vegan butter before using them. This is similar to how In-N-Out sautes their buns in butter and adds more moisture and flavor.
Coconut Aminos (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
What the heck are coconut aminos? They are a sauce similar to soy or Worcestershire sauce, but soy-free. A perfect swap if you are on a Paleo or Whole30 diet. You can usually use them in the same amount and way you would soy or Worcestershire sauce. I use them in MANY of my Whole30 sauces and dishes!

21 Seasoning Salute (Whole30, Paleo)
This is my go-to seasoning. I love it on veggies (sprinkle on before roasting or air frying) and it’s delicious on chicken as well (check it out on this Garlic Butter Chicken Recipe). I use it every week and always have several bottles in my pantry. So flavorful and good!

Garlic Salt Grinder (Whole30, Paleo)
Oh my gosh, this is a must-have seasoning in our house. Like, my boys bring it to the table for most meals. The freshly ground dried garlic + salt = elevates a meal. We love it! Plus, if you are on a Whole30, many garlic salts have sugar in them and are not compatible – but this one is!

Gluten-free Almost Everything Bagels
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
We are loving these, so great for a breakfast sandwich or toast spreads with some vegan butter and go kind of snack or breakfast add-on. I personally love to saute them in vegan butter and then stack them with bacon and egg for an amazing breakfast sandwichWe are loving these, so great for a breakfast sandwich or toast spreads with some vegan butter and go kind of snack or breakfast add-on. I personally love to saute them in vegan butter and then stack them with bacon and egg for an amazing breakfast sandwich.

Nutritional Yeast (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Nutritional yeast is not the same as baker’s yeast. It is used in dairy-free/vegan dishes to create a cheesy flavor. Nutritional yeast is becoming more and more common. But, the one at Trader Joe’s has the best flavor IMO and is the most affordable I have found at $3.49/4 oz. Use it in my Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning, to season my Crispy Smashed Brussel Sprouts, or in my Whole30 Chili Con Queso Dip.

Vegan Heavy Whipping Cream (GF, DF) – DISCONTINUED
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
A quick heads-up on the vegan whipping cream. Trader Joe’s discontinued their dairy-free heavy whipping cream, so if you came here looking for it, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
BUT, I still find other versions like:
- the Country Crock brand I get at my local Walmart
- or the Califia Farms one at Sprouts
- or the Silk brand at Smith’s.
WAHOO for lots of options now! Perfect for making my Chocolate Cream Pie or to make a savory dish like my Marry Me Chicken Soup richer.

Gluten-free English Muffins (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
These are not the exact airy texture you’re used to with gluten English Muffins, but they are a solid option. We use them often for an egg and bacon Breakfast Sandwich that’s decently fast and easy but savory for a weekday morning. Like I describe in the gluten-free buns up above, we usually do satue these in vegan butter to get extra moisture and flavor. $4.49 for 4 muffins. Store great in the freezer!

Hearts of Palm “Pasta” (Whole30, Paleo, Keto)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Store bought noddles that have any flour added to them are not allowed on Whole30. And, if you are eating low-carb or Keto, pasta options are limited. Enter Hearts of Palm “pasta.” It only has one ingredient – hearts of palm, and thus is Whole30 and Keto compatible.
Don’t get me wrong, they will NOT taste just like pasta, but can fit the need if you are eating Whole30 or Keto and I like them better than zoodles (zucchini noodles). Use them in my Skillet Lasagna, White Chicken Lasagna Soup, or serve my Chicken Cauliflower Alfredo on it for a tasty Whole30 or Keto option!
They aren’t a “favorite” per se – I would rather just have traditional pasta, but one I wanted to make you aware of if you need more Whole30 or Keto options. They also have Riced Hearts of Palm which can be a Whole30 or Keto “rice” substitute besides cauliflower.

Garlic Olive Oil (Whole30, Paleo, Keto)
Sounds simple, and I’m not usually one to get too excited about olive oil, but I LOVE the garlic flavor in this. Perfect for adding more flavor when you are sautéing veggies or in a recipe like my Garlic Fries for more garlicky goodness. Yum!

Dill Pickle Spears (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
You either love pickles or you hate them. I admit I’m on the side of not loving pickles, but my husband sure does, and he loves these. Plus, I buy them regularly to be able to use the pickle juice for making my Whole30 Paleo Chick-fil-A chicken copycat.
Fun Snacks for Home or Road Trips

Dried Mango (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
This is such a great all-natural dried fruit snack. So many dried fruits have added sugar, but this one is unsweetened (make SURE you grab the unsweetened – Trader Joe’s has both!) and like nature’s fruit leather. Plus, it’s shelf stable so you can grab a few and keep them until needed.

Mini Mochi Rice Nuggets (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Holy cow these are good! They have regular (not mini) Mochi Rice Nuggets we have enjoyed for years. And they are good. BUT, these are absolutely delicious – such a great crunchy + salty snack! I love these.

Salt + Pepper Chips (GF, DF)
A friend introduced these to me at a Ragnar running relay and WOW, I was sold. I didn’t think I would like them, but the salt + pepper combo really surprised me how much I loved it. We take a bag (actually 2) on all our road trips!
Gluten-free Dairy-free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (GF + DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
I’m a big fan of a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. I love that TJ’s has this Gluten-free Cookie dough that is also dairy-free. A great option to keep in the fridge for when you just want to bake up a cookie (or 12 ; ).

Apple Chip Duo (Paleo, Whole30)
These apple chips are super simple in ingredients (just apples!) and a lovely crunchy but sweet snack. I love munching on them on road trips or a hike. Great texture and taste without any added ingredients!

Plantain Crisps (aka Tostones; GF, DF, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
If have been around me for more than a minute, you know I LOVE tostones. If you are on a Whole30, these are NOT allowed, as no commercially prepared chips allowed, so use this recipe to make your own. Otherwise, they are an awesome grain-free option for scooping all the things or creating sliders. Great for scooping and eating my Taco Soup, Southwest Chicken Salad or Cowboy Caviar on the beach, or Chili Con Queso Dip!
Chocolate Drizzled Strawberry Kettle Corn (GF, DF) – SEASONAL!
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
SEASONAL – Stock up around Valentine’s day! This sweet snack is such a fun combination of flavors. Like if a chocolate-covered strawberry and popcorn had a baby?! It’s a fun on we often road trip with, though we usually have to get several bags.
Crunchy Chili Onion Hummus (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
We love hummus and Trader Joe’s does hummus really well. Most (but not all) hummus is gluten-free + dairy-free and it’s such a fun scoop and eat snack on a trip or for lunch or a snack. My current favorite is their Crunchy Chili Onion Hummus, but many of them are delightful.

Almond Chipotle Dip (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Though if we are talking dips, we need to mention this Almond Chipotle Dip. It’s possibly my husband’s all-time favorite dip! We love it with raw veggies, crackers, or Trader Joe’s Quinoa and Black Bean Tortilla Chips.

Sour Swimmers Gummies (GF, DF) (and other gummies)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
It’s fun to have candy on a road trip or hike to make hard things a little more exciting. These Sour Swimmers are just the right texture – soft, but don’t stick to your teeth. Plus, we love the sour flavors. AND, there are no artificial colors or flavors added to these, making them my go-to for a fun candy treat.
we also love the Cinna Dragons if you like cinnamon bear type, and the fruit jellies are just perfection with the sugar on the outside and super soft gummy in the middle. Trader Joe’s does gummies right we also love the Cinna Dragons if you like cinnamon bear type, and the fruit jellies are just perfection with the sugar on the outside and super soft gummy in the middle. Trader Joe’s does gummies right!

Hazelnut-filled Bambas (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
A light puffy outside but sweet chocolate hazelnut cream on the inside make these super fun for snacking! Plus, budget friendly as they are only around $2 per bag…but keep in mind your teen can plow through a whole bag in one setting if you let them!

Everything Bagel Nut Duo (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
I love the everything bagel seasoning on these! A great flavor with nice whole big nuts. Probably my favorite road trip or travel nut mix to take for good variety and simplicity.

Coconut Water with Yuzu
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
I swear this tastes like Sprite, but in a Whole30 Paleo, “there are no added sugars or sweeteners” kind of way. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s delicious and has been a favorite drink of ours for a long time.

Chili & Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
I love Trader Joe’s Ranch Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips, but they have dairy in them. For a dairy-free option that kind of reminds me of Hot Cheetos (not my thing because I’m a spice-weenie, but my kids love them) – they’re a fun choice!

Raspberry Oat Bites
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
These are basically the Trader Joe’s version of Bobo’s bites. My kids enjoyed them. Not my thing, but a great emergency snack or lunch box option. For me at 3.99 for 6 small bites, they’re not ones I would buy on the regular, but good for travel or in a pinch situation.

Country Peach Juice (Paleo, Whole30)
We love that this juice has no added sugar and is only juice concentrates. It’s one I have to buy several of, else my husband will steal them all, and it often gets fought over. We don’t have juice all the time, due to how it spikes your blood sugar, but it’s a great one if you want a delicious juice!

Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Bites (GF, DF)
These are great little individually packaged, almost like scotch roux-type Rice Krispie treats covered in chocolate. Too pricey for us to use on a regular basis for lunch boxes every week, but we often grab them for travel as a fun, easy travel treat.
Favorite Breakfast + Dinner Finds

Cauliflower Gnocchi (Paleo, GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
I don’t really like the flavor of cauiflower. However, these little cauliflower gnocchi are tasty and even my pickiest eater will eat them! BUT, make sure you cook them right and don’t follow the package directions, they are terrible. Here’s how to cook Crispy Cauliflower Gnocchi.

Gluten-free Chicken Nuggets (GF, DF)
There are quite a few gluten-free + dairy-free chicken nuggets on the market these days, which is so great! Trader Joe’s has their own version too, in the freezer section. The ingredient list is a little too long for me, but they are helpful in a pinch for date night or sometime you just need to get dinner on the table. And, at $5 a bag, they are more affordable than many other gluten-free nuggets.

Chicken Taquitos (GF, DF)
These are another option for when you need dinner in a pinch. Gluten-free and dairy-free and under $5. We will often have some in our freezer that the kids can air fry when dinner goes awry.

Mini Chicken and Beef Tacos (GF, DF)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Similar to the taquitos above, these are in the freezer section and are great heat-and-eat meat options for my kiddos to have in the freezer when I’m out of town (or if they need something fast after school for a snack before practice that has protein in it). NOTE: these just got new packaging. Look at the Trader Joe’s website (links above) for their bright new colored packaging to find in store
Trader Joe’s Uncured Grass Fed Beef Hot Dogs (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
Finding hot dogs without added sugar (especially dextrose) can be hard. If you are on a Whole30 or Paleo protocol, then these hot dogs are an easy protein option when you just need something simple. Though, I’ll be honest – if your Trader Joe’s still sells Hebrew Nationals All-Natural Hot Dogs – those are our favorite Whole30 compatible hot dogs that my kids thought actually taste “normal.”

Trader Joe’s Turkey Burgers (Whole30, Paleo)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
These burgers only have three ingredients and are fantastic for macros, with 180 calories and 22 g of protein and 10 g of fat. A great EASY lighter burger option!

Spicy Mexican-Style Riced Cauliflower (Whole30, Paleo, Vegan)
(tap the above title to go to Trader Joe’s website for ingredients)
This is a great, easy side when you need veggies, especially if you’re on a Whole30, paleo, or vegan. Keep in mind they aren’t kidding when they say it’s spicy. I can handle up to a medium spice, and this one’s a little too high for me, but I do like mixing it in with my Taco Pasta recipe for lots of protein from the taco pasta and extra veggies from this mix.
On My List To Try Soon:

Vanilla Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert
I’m always on the hunt for good dairy-free ice cream. Admittedly, some are not so great. It has to be smooth and creamy, but usually my favorite ones are coconut-based, which this one is, so I’m curious if it will hold up to some of my favorites. Currently, our family’s vanilla ice cream go-to is the Breyers non-dairy from Walmart, which is accessible and tastes great.

Organic Red Lentil Sedanini
I almost always use a protein pasta. Banza is my current favorite, but this one uses red lentils instead of chickpeas, which might work better for some. I’m curious how it holds up when it cooks and plan on checking it out next time I go to Trader Joe’s.
Shop at Costco too? Here’s the companion guide — my Costco lunchbox finds for packing school lunches.

I have a friend coming to visit and we love to snack! She recently found out she has to avoid dairy on top of being GF. This was SO helpful for stocking my cabinets for her! Thank you!
I’m so glad this was helpful! How thoughtful of you to stock up with her needs in mind—she’s lucky to have a friend like you.
This soooo helpful, thank you!
I’m so glad it was helpful!! You’re so welcome!
Thank you for all you do to make things easier for others to choose healthier options.
Such a kind message—thank you! It means so much to know the work is making a difference. Making healthier choices feel doable and delicious is always the goal!
Would have been nice if you’d included a pic of the back of the item so we could see the ingredients, which is the most important part.
You are right – I know those ingredient lists matter a lot to people with food allergies and sensitivities. That’s why I linked the item header to the product on Trader Joe’s website (if they have it) where you can find the ingredient list, nutrition facts, and price. Hope that helps!
