Ingredients for Honey Garlic Sausage Sheet Pan Dinner
This gluten-free honey garlic sausage sheet pan dinner uses simple ingredients that are easy to find:
-
Beef smoked sausage – There are lots of options here. I love Teton Waters Ranch sausages, I get from Costco, due to their simple, whole-food ingredients and that they are Paleo and Whole30-compatible. Those are also usually available at Sprouts. Their rope sausage also works great. If you need a more budget-friendly option, this basic beef sausage at Walmart works. Or, for a Walmart option that also has awesome ingredients, use this chicken apple sausage instead!
-
Yellow baby potatoes – Cut in half and cooked cut side down to make sure you have crispy potatoes
-
Olive oil
-
Fresh or frozen broccoli – Fresh broccoli gives the best texture, but frozen works well for convenience. If using frozen broccoli, do not thaw and add it during the final roasting stage so it doesn’t become soggy.
-
Salt
-
Paprika
Sauce:
- Coconut sugar – We use just a touch of coconut sugar to increase the sweetness. If you aren’t Paleo, you can also use an equal amount of brown sugar.
- Honey – Brings that sticky-sweet balance to the smoky chipotle. Look for 100% honey with no other ingredients.
- Ketchup – Adds tang and thickness to the glaze. Use whatever ketchup works for your family. If you just need these to be gluten-free and/or dairy-free, a basic ketchup like Heinz Simple Organic works well. For Paleo, use a ketchup sweetened only by honey like this one.
- Coconut aminos – Coconut aminos are a great soy sauce replacement and add a great depth of flavor. We can find coconut aminos at Walmart or Trader Joe’s.
- Minced garlic – Can be freshly minced from cloves, or I use pre-minced garlic to save time.
- Garlic salt
The honey garlic sauce adds a slightly sweet, savory flavor that works well with the sausage and roasted vegetables.
Using baby potatoes keeps the prep quick, and broccoli adds an easy vegetable to round out the meal.

How to Make Honey Garlic Sausage Sheet Pan Dinner
Preheat oven to 425°F. Place a large sheet pan in the oven while it heats to help the potatoes crisp.
Carefully remove the hot pan and add olive oil. Spread the potatoes cut side down in a single layer and season with salt and pepper. Roast for 15–20 minutes, until the bottoms begin to turn golden.
Add sliced sausage to the pan and roast 10 minutes, stirring once, until the sausage begins to brown.
While sausage and potatoes are cooking, make the sauce. SAUCE: In a medium saucepan or pot, add oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and saute until fragrant for 2-3 minutes. Whisk together the remaining sauce ingredients and add to the pan with the minced garlic. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 3-4 minutes for flavors to combine.
Place the sausage and broccoli in a bowl and toss with the honey garlic sauce. Add back to the sheet pan around the potatoes, keeping the potatoes mostly undisturbed so they stay crispy. Roast 8–10 minutes, until broccoli is tender and the sauce becomes glossy.
Optional caramelization – Broil for 1–2 minutes to caramelize the sauce and crisp the sausage edges.
My Favorite Sheet Pan
At minimum, you need a large rimmed sheet pan that is at least a “half sheet,” or about 18×13 inches. I have this basic two-pack from Amazon that has worked well for me for over three years.
However, my *favorite* sheet pan comes from Target and is only $12. It is extra large, measuring 21″x15″. It’s basically the biggest sheet pan you can get and still fit in your oven. It gives you so much extra cooking space, which is especially great for sheet pan dinners.

I highly recommend getting one of these extra large sheet pans! I have one in each color and am tempted to get more as back-ups. Can’t beat that price! But don’t worry, I write my recipes around a traditional half sheet size to ensure they fit in the average sheet pan size.
What Makes This a Great Weeknight Dinner
Weeknight meals work best when they’re simple and dependable. This honey garlic sausage sheet pan dinner keeps things easy by using one pan and quick prep ingredients.
Rotating dinners like this can make meal planning feel much more manageable during busy weeks.
Paleo Option
To make this recipe Paleo, use coconut sugar and a ketchup sweetened only by honey like this one. Use a sausage that fits Paleo guidelines, like Teton Waters Ranch or Aidell’s Chicken Apple Sausage.
The rest of the ingredients already work well for a simple Paleo-style sheet pan meal.
Is This Recipe Kid-Approved?
Yes. The slightly sweet honey garlic sauce and familiar ingredients make this a kid-approved dinner for many families. My 13-year-old told me this is the only way he’s ever loved broccoli – win!
Sheet pan meals like this are also easy to customize if needed.
Can You Make Sheet Pan Dinners Ahead of Time?
Many sheet pan dinners can be prepped ahead of time by chopping the vegetables and slicing the sausage earlier in the day. When dinner time comes, everything can be tossed onto the pan and roasted together, making it a practical option for busy weeknights.

Wow, that’s the ultimate compliment!! I love that it was such a hit with your whole family. Thank you for the rave review!
Had to come back to further my comment from yesterday!! This turned out beautiful!!! I used Brussels sprouts and peppers (thats what I had) and the sauce tied it together so nicely!! I think we could eat this every night of the week!
I do wonder if I could have used parchment paper instead of foil?
Thanks again Autumn for an easy but superb meal🥰
I love that you came back to share this — and those veggie swaps sound so good! The sauce really does bring everything together.
And yes, you can use parchment instead of foil, but foil conducts heat better and gives you crispier potatoes. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review!
Perfect timing!! I was thinking of doing a pan dish and then this crossed my instagram page!! Yippee so excited!! 🥰 Anything Autumn creates is great!!!
WAHOO! So glad this fit the bill perfectly! I hope your family loves it as much as we do.
